Join Renfrew Community Council and help shape the future of our town.

We’re neighbours, not politicians - people who care about Renfrew and are willing to put the work in to make it better.

Whether you can give a bit of time each month or help with specific pieces of work during the year, there’s a place for you in the Community Council.

Right now, we have four co-option spaces available for people who want to get involved straight away and help take action between meetings.

There are plenty of ways to take part now, and we’re happy to talk through what involvement looks like before you commit.

Why join the Community Council?

Being part of the Community Council means you can:

  • Raise issues that matter to you and your neighbours and help make sure they’re followed up.

  • Shape local decisions on planning, services, and community priorities by feeding directly into the process.

  • Get involved in projects that make Renfrew greener, safer, and more connected.

  • Work alongside other local people who care about the town and are willing to put the effort in to improve it.

You don’t need experience but being involved does mean bringing ideas, energy, and a willingness to take action between meetings.

Become a community councillor

This form is an expression of interest, not a guarantee of membership.

Which of the following best describes how you want to be involved?

(Please select the option that fits you best)

Please note: Full and co-opted membership is intended for those able to take on agreed tasks between meetings. Those who prefer to attend and observe may be better suited to associate involvement or attending meetings as a member of the public.

When a task is agreed, how do you usually work?

Community Council work relies on members following tasks through, not just raising issues.

If you become a member, which of these are you prepared to do within your first 3 months?

Please note: Selecting the final option may mean starting as an associate or supporter rather than a full or co-opted member.

This doesn’t need to be long nor do you have to have lived in Renfrew for long - we’re interested in lived experience and local connection.

Realistically, how much time can you give per month?

Tell us about your bit of Renfrew

Tell us the street, area, or place this affects. It doesn’t need to be exact - a street name or nearby landmark is fine

In your own words, tell us what you’re seeing or experiencing. This can be a problem, something that feels unsafe, or just something that could be better.

How does this affect the area?
Feels unsafe
Hard to get around
Run-down or neglected
Noisy or disruptive
Missed opportunity
Just flagging for awareness
Not sure - just wanted to highlight it

You don’t need to have a solution but if you do, we’d like to hear it.
