Callum Reid was born in Renfrew in 1999 and grew up locally, attending Newmains Primary School and Renfrew High School before going on to study Social Sciences at West College Scotland. He now works as a graphic designer.
Callum’s connection to the town started early. In Primary 5, he came second in Renfrewshire Council’s Renfrew in Bloom competition — a small moment, but one that sparked a lasting interest in community pride and local involvement.
He first joined Renfrew Community Council in 2015, taking on roles including Social Media Officer, Treasurer, Secretary and Chair. During this time, he focused on making the Council more open, accessible and connected to everyday life in the town.
After leaving Renfrew to take up work in London, Callum returned home in 2023. In 2025, he re-joined Renfrew Community Council and offered to serve as Chair once again.
Callum believes Renfrew works best when people step in together — sharing responsibility, supporting one another, and turning good ideas into real action. His focus is on keeping the Community Council practical, inclusive and rooted in the town it represents.
