Sub-Committees
of Renfrew Community
Council
How we work together
Our sub committees are how Renfrew Community Council gets things done without putting everything on the same few people.

Each sub committee focuses on a specific area of work. That helps spread the load, makes involvement more manageable, and allows people to contribute in ways that fit their time, interests, and skills.

Sub committees do not make decisions on their own. They develop ideas, gather information, and bring recommendations back to the full Community Council. All decisions are discussed and agreed in public meetings.

This way of working keeps things open, shared, and focused on practical outcomes for Renfrew.
Who can be part of a sub committee
Sub committees are made up of Community Councillors and Associate Members.

To join a sub committee, you must be a member or an associate member of the Community Council. This makes sure everyone involved is accountable, supported, and working within the same agreed rules.

You do not need to join a sub committee straight away. Many people start by coming to meetings, sharing ideas, or helping with specific pieces of work before deciding whether to take on a more formal role.

If you are interested in a particular area, we are always happy to talk through how membership or associate membership works.
