A Few Hours of Community Action at the Churchyard

A few hours of local action can change how a place feels.

Today volunteers met at the churchyard to tackle the build-up of litter, leaves and debris that had gathered along the paths, edges and railings.

With the weather doing its best to test us, we focused on the areas that make the biggest difference for the public: walkways, entrances, and the spots where debris naturally collects.

By the end of the clean-up, the results were clear.

The paths and edges were opened up, litter was removed from across the site, and bagged waste was consolidated ready for uplift.

It’s not just about how it looks - a cleaner, clearer space feels safer, more welcoming, and more respectful of the people and history the churchyard represents.

A big thank you to everyone who turned up and got stuck in.

This is what community looks like: not big speeches, just practical action and pride in our shared spaces.
