Community invited to Parish Churchyard Cleanup Day
Local residents, community groups and representatives are being invited to take part in a Parish Churchyard Cleanup Day in Renfrew later this month.
The cleanup will take place on Sunday 15 Feb 2026 from 11am at the churchyard of Renfrew Parish Church, on Renfrew High Street. The event is being organised by Renfrew Community Council and aims to bring people together to care for a well-used shared space at the heart of the town.
Speaking ahead of the event, Jan Bunch, Vice-Chair of Renfrew Community Council, said:
“This is about people coming together to look after a place that matters to Renfrew. It doesn’t take much - a few hours and a bit of teamwork - to make a visible difference. Events like this remind us that looking after our town works best when we do it together.”
The cleanup is open to individuals, community groups and local representatives.
No previous experience is needed, and basic equipment will be available on the day. For health and safety reasons, small children will not be able to attend, though older young people are welcome if supervised.
Callum Reid, Chair of Renfrew Community Council, added:
“Renfrew has always been strongest when people step in and share the effort. This is a simple, practical way to do something positive together, and we’d love to see a good mix of residents, groups and local representatives getting involved.”
Anyone planning to attend is asked to complete a short form in advance to help organisers plan equipment and numbers. The form can be found here: https://www.wixforms.com/f/7411377958830474242
For more information, or to get involved, residents and groups are encouraged to contact Renfrew Community Council directly.
